As the current principal of Panshi Senior High School, I am deeply honored to continue the legacy of our founding leaders and dedicated educators who have shaped this institution into what it is today. Our school, established by Bishop Du Baojin of the Catholic Diocese of Hsinchu in 1963, was born out of his vision to provide educational opportunities for the students of Hsinchu, especially in times when access to education was difficult. Bishop Du’s tireless efforts, including traveling across Europe and the United States to raise funds, laid the foundation for what would become the Panshi community—a school inspired by the biblical strength of Saint Peter, the "rock" upon which the church was built.
Over the years, Panshi High School has grown from its humble beginnings, continuously evolving to meet the needs of our students and society. From adding vocational programs to expanding our facilities and increasing student enrollment, our school has remained steadfast in its mission to provide a quality education rooted in the values of love, service, and resilience.
Since my appointment as principal in 2013, I have been committed to advancing our school's development through active participation in competitive educational initiatives. By fostering a keen responsiveness to the ever-changing educational environment, we have secured funding to upgrade our facilities, expanded collaborations with universities and businesses, and integrated new technology into our teaching methods. Our efforts have been recognized, and we are proud to have been named an exemplary school by the Ministry of Education in consecutive academic years.
As we celebrate Panshi’s 60th anniversary this academic year, I look to the future with a strong sense of purpose and responsibility. Despite the challenges posed by declining birth rates and the growing emphasis on individual rights, I believe that by staying true to the core values of Catholic education—building a community of love and sharing—we can continue to cultivate students and contribute to the greater good.
As principal, I am committed to working alongside our dedicated teachers, staff, students, and parents to pursue excellence in education and ensure that Panshi High School remains a cornerstone of growth and development in our community. Together, we will face the challenges ahead with courage and conviction, just as Saint Peter once did, and continue to build a brighter future for all.
